I shall never be able to express...

I shall never be able to express enough gratitude for the blessings I have received through the study and application of Christian Science. Before coming into Science, I more or less lived in a world all my own, or thought that I did. My concept of God was of an ambiguous nature. I had learned very little about religion, and my outlook on life was dark and confused. I was miserable and endeavored to make the lives of those around me miserable.

During the first few years of our marriage, there was a great deal of inharmony in the home because of my wrong thinking. I began to use strong intoxicating drinks and to express many ungodlike qualities. This condition grew to such an extent that it seemed as though the only solution was a separation.

My wife had been studying Christian Science for several years, and now, in desperation, she turned to a practitioner for help. The practitioner asked that I be invited to talk with him. I reluctantly agreed to pay him a visit. On the way to his office, I thought of all the reasons I would give him as to why I thought he would be unable to help. To my surprise I had very little to say. I just listened. He explained that he was working for home and that God just would not allow any discordant condition to exist among His children.
