"A radiant sunset, beautiful as blessings when they take their flight, dilates and kindles into rest. Thus will a life corrected illumine its own atmosphere with spiritual glow and understanding," declares Mary Baker Eddy on page 356 of her "Miscellaneous Writings." Correcting my own life through the study and practice of Christian Science has proved the truth of the above statement.

A loved sister first brought me this light of Truth. As I studied the Bible and the writings of Mrs. Eddy and understood and practiced the truth contained therein, the darkness of erroneous thinking was replaced by spiritual clarity, resulting in the permanent healing of severe and periodic headaches, constipation, a digestive disorder, hemorrhoids, defective eyesight, weakness, and tuberculosis.

The tubercular condition had been diagnosed as such by two physicians and by hospital authorities, who had given me extensive tests. One kindly physician, who sincerely had my interest at heart, told me it would always be necessary for me to rest fourteen hours out of each twenty-four.

Soon after this physical diagnosis, Christian Science was presented to me. Through my study of it, I was healed as fears and false character traits dropped away one by one. The healing has remained permanent. Now instead of fearing winds and changing temperatures, I walk triumphantly and serenely through all kinds of weather with the warm inward glow of spiritual peace and power. I work hard, and many times I have only five hours' rest at night with no ill effects.

How humbly grateful I am for having had an understanding of Christian Science in the rearing of our son! As I learned to overcome the fears and domination of mortal motherhood, both of us found greater freedom and joy. One night I was wakened by our son, who was then about eight months old. He had a high fever, and my fears continued to rise; but I wanted to prove that Christian Science is practical.

For some time I lay in bed thinking, "Good is more powerful than evil called disease." Then, like a light illumining this reasoning, came the thought: "That is not what I have been learning through my study. I have learned that God, good, is the only power. So there is actually no disease, and God's child is perfect and whole now and forever." The Psalmist's words concerning God (Ps. 46:6), "He uttered his voice, the earth melted," filled my thought. I had repeated them many times before, but now I understood them. My sense of man as a mortal had melted into the spiritual understanding that he is in reality spiritual and immortal. The child was healed instantaneously.

Later, he was healed of a severe case of measles in less than forty-eight hours and also of an injury to his wrist. He went all through grammar school and high school without a vaccination or inoculation of any kind, enjoying health and freedom.

My husband and I are finding joy and progress by using Christian Science daily in our home. For the patient, consecrated practitioners who have stood with me in trials, I have unceasing gratitude. For all the activities of the Christian Science movement and for the privilege of class instruction, I am grateful. With each overcoming of selfishness, inertia, and apathy, my gratitude increases for our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy.

I am gratefully aware of progress as limitations fall away day by day and a regeneration takes place. Mrs. Eddy says in "Miscellaneous Writings" (p. 331), "Midst the falling leaves of old-time faiths, above the frozen crust of creed and dogma, the divine Mind-force, filling all space and having all power, upheaves the earth."
