With great joy and unbounded...

With great joy and unbounded gratitude I give thanks to God for Christian Science. It has brought me through many difficult human experiences, all of which yielded quickly to the application of the truths of this Science. Among these healings are those of partial paralysis, chronic sick headaches, influenza, and the overcoming of a sense of loneliness.

I should like to relate a recent healing, however, which did not come about quickly but which brought much spiritual growth and understanding to me. A belief of obstruction or stoppage of elimination persisted for several weeks. I had the help of a Christian Science practitioner, and with this help many beautiful spiritual truths unfolded to me.

I realized that I must resist the temptations of fear and discouragement and not believe the illusions of sense testimony. I saw that in order to do this I must stay close to God in thought and always be alert to His omnipotence, omnipresence, omniscience, and omniaction. As Mary Baker Eddy asks, when writing of the restoration of Lazarus by Jesus (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, pp. 493, 494), "Who dares to doubt this consummate test of the power and willingness of divine Mind to hold man forever intact in his perfect state, and to govern man's entire action?"
