ENTERTAINING ANGELS
From Genesis to Revelation, the Bible records instances of divine protection, guidance, and ministering love, and often mentions angels as the agents through which such beneficences were received.
The Biblical account of Christ Jesus' experiences includes instances of angelic direction and protection. Even before his birth an angel reassured Mary in these words (Luke 1:35): "The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God."
Angels heralded the birth of Jesus and directed the shepherds to the manger where he lay. When Herod would have destroyed the babe, an angel warned Joseph that he should flee to Egypt with the mother and child.
