"DIGNITY OF SOUL"

The "dignity of Soul," God, is respected by spiritually minded individuals, for it expresses the majesty and nobility of the divine nature. Among dictionary definitions of "dignity" are "state, character, or quality of being worthy or honorable;... nobleness; excellence."

Human demeanor reflects the "dignity of Soul" in spiritual poise grace, and nobility of character. True dignity excludes pride, haughtiness, egotism, and pomp. It does not depend on learning, status in life, or environment but on the expression of the qualities of Spirit.

Mary Baker Eddy employs seven synonyms for Deity, synonyms which denote God's different aspects. These synonyms are Principle, Mind, Spirit, Soul, Life, Truth, and Love. Soul, when used for Deity, denotes sinless divine consciousness. Man, made in the likeness of Spirit, Soul, naturally possesses the qualities of Soul as his divine heritage.
