DIVINE LOVE MEETS THE NEED

[Of Special Interest to Children]

Pauline and her father enjoyed horseback riding very much. Father owned a beautiful chestnut horse named Rob Roy, and one day he purchased a horse for Pauline. She loved her horse from the first moment she saw him; he was a beautiful chestnut color too, and his satiny coat shone in the sun. Soon he learned to whinny when he saw Pauline coming, just as Rob Roy did when her father went near the stable.

When she first started to ride her new horse, Pauline was tempted to feel a little afraid, because he stepped so high and wanted to go faster than any horse she had ever ridden before. Then she remembered a Bible verse she had learned (I John 4:18), "There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear."

After she saw that where Love is, there is no room for fear, she was never afraid any more. She was also helped by Mary Baker Eddy's statement in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 514), "All of God's creatures, moving in the harmony of Science, are harmless, useful, indestructible."
