TRUE FRIENDSHIP

... To thine own self be true,
And it must follow, as the night the day,
Thou canst not then be false to any man.

Do not these words of Shakespeare provide the recipe for true friendship? One who finds it difficult to make friends might ask himself, "Am I being true to myself, hence true to my fellow men, and therefore attracting the friendship of those with desirable qualities?"
