FACT AND FABLE
The understanding and practical application of Christian Science enable one to distinguish between the fact and the material fable of existence. Christ Jesus was teaching this lesson when he said (John 6:63), "It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing."
A dictionary gives one meaning of "fact" as "that which has actual existence, whether subjectively or objectively considered"; and of "fable" as "an untruth; falsehood."
Success in Christian Science is based on the consistent knowing of spiritual facts and the rejection of material fables. Therefore Christian Science is not based on fables derived from "the carnal mind," which, Paul said, "is enmity against God" (Rom. 8:7).
