For almost thirty-one years I have been a student of Christian Science, and it has brought me through some trying ordeals. At one time I was suffering from ulcers, and I asked a Christian Science practitioner for help. Her work destroyed the fear. With the fear gone, the ulcers were gone. That was fifteen years ago, and I have had no return of the trouble. I was also healed of the smoking habit through the work of the same practitioner. I am humble grateful to her and to all the practitioners, who are dedicating their lives to the healing of others.

I have also had healings through my own work. Once I was using a six-foot iron pinch bar to pry loose a heavy timber. The pinch bar suddenly gave way and fell across the end of my big toe. There was severe pain, but I instantly began to repeat "the scientific statement of being" by Mary Baker Eddy, the first lines of which state (Science and Health, p. 468): "There is no life, truth, intelligence, nor substance in matter. All is infinite Mind and its infinite manifestation, for God is All-in-all."

In a few minutes the pain was gone. That night when I removed my rubber boots and socks, there was not the slightest discoloration. This was my first healing through my own efforts, and it proved to me that when consciousness is flooded with truth, there is no room for error.
