Teaching God's Omnipotence

The basic teachings of Christian Science include and make clear God's omnipotence and evil's nothingness. As pupils in our Sunday Schools are taught this revealed truth, they will gain a demonstrable understanding of the healing power of divine Love and of man's oneness with his Father-Mother God.

Sunday School teaching is an individual demonstration, attained through study, prayer, and revelation. The teacher who daily asks God to prepare his thought and that of his class to receive the spiritual enlightenment and healing message which the Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly presents will be led to impart to each pupil that which satisfies and heals. When the teacher knows that God, divine Mind, supplies all the ideas His children need, lie will find renewed inspiration each week in presenting either the "first lessons" or the "next lessons," outlined in Article XX, Section3 of the Manual of The Mother Church, by our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy.

In every class, from the youngest to the oldest, it is important to impress the children with the truth of God's omnipotence and omnipresence. Children who receive good foundational instruction in Sunday School will not become innocent victims of mortal mind or the willing tools of evil. As they are taught to love good and denounce evil, they will be fortified against the mesmerism of sin's unsatisfying promises.
