BILLY AND TOMMY PROVE THAT THEY LOVE GOD

[Of Special Interest to Children]

Boys and girls enjoy reading Bible stories because they tell of brave deeds and interesting experiences. Many of these stories are told of those who, because of their love for God and their trust in Him, served Him with all their heart.

One might think that only those who lived in Biblical times were able to have such experiences. This, however, is not the case. God is as close to us today as He was to Moses, Daniel, or Christ Jesus. Anyone who loves good, loves God. By thinking rightly and doing rightly, he is serving God and can prove that God cares for him in solving hard problems that face him.

Two brothers. Billy and Tommy, learned in the Christian Science Sunday School that long ago a man named Daniel was thrown into a den of lions because he would not bow down and worship a king instead of God. Daniel knew that it was important to obey God and that God protects those who are obedient to Him. And God did protect him. Moreover, when the king found that Daniel had not been hurt by the lions, he was so impressed that he too worshiped God and released Daniel.
