LETTERS TO THE PRESS FROM CHRISTIAN SCIENCE COMMITTEES ON PUBLICATION

In an edition of your paper [the] religion editor wrote under the caption, "Orange Ministerial Body Changes Name." The closing paragraph read: "In a broad sense, evangelical applies to all Christian churches, those who set down the evangel, or good news, of Christ. It excludes Jews, Unitarians, Universalists, Christian Scientists and a few other groups."

... To imply that Christian Science is not concerned with the Christ is to seriously distort the facts. An objective study of the writings of Mary Baker Eddy, Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, reveals that her main purpose is to direct the thought of the reader to the life and work of Christ Jesus and the deep spiritual import of his teaching. He is considered by Christian Scientists to be the Master, whom they must follow in thought, word, and deed to the best of their ability.
