"COME YE YOURSELVES APART"

It is related of Christ Jesus that after a Sabbath day of healing and teaching in Capernaum, "rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed" (Mark 1:35). Our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, writes in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 32), "Jesus prayed; he withdrew from the material senses to refresh his heart with brighter, with spiritual views."

Communion with God enabled the Master more fully to recognize the ever-presence of the kingdom of heaven and to refuse to acknowledge as real the sin and sickness which were manifested by many of those with whom he came in contact. In this way the multitudes were healed.

Mrs. Eddy states (ibid., p. 138), "Jesus established in the Christian era the precedent for all Christianity, theology, and healing." It therefore behooves all who are trying to follow his example, to study closely his life and works as recorded in the four Gospels that they may learn to solve their problems more successfully.
