For many years I have been blessed by the teachings of Christian Science. The testimonies in the periodicals have been most helpful, and I should like to add mine, hoping that it will be helpful to others. Since I was reared in a medically minded family, in which there are several doctors, the way at times has not been easy, and the mists of mortal thinking have had to be cleared to let in the spiritual truth.

One of the first healings I experienced was that of influenza, or grippe, as it was called in those days. I had been subject to such attacks all my life and expected a bout with them each winter. A short time after I began the serious study of Christian Science, an attack occurred. I was taken by a friend to a practitioner, who talked to me for a few minutes; then we drove to the friend's farm.

After supper, which to my surprise I was able to eat, I went to bed on a sleeping porch that was very damp and cold. However, a sense of peace and trust in God came to me, and I went to sleep, leaving all in God's hands. The next morning I was entirely free, and I returned home with a heart full of gratitude.

More recently a condition developed which I believe would be called a heart attack. A practitioner was called and worked throughout the night; also a Christian Science nurse was with me. The healing came within twenty-four hours. I felt as if a great weight had been lifted from my chest. I knew I had had another proof of the power of God to heal, and I realized that nothing is impossible to Him.

Many other healings have come to bless our family. Sprained ankles, swollen joints, chronic headaches, and colds have been among the conditions healed.

Whereas I once had a tendency to consider the physical aspect of error and to look for its cause in matter, now I know that the cause of all error is mental. Prayerful work must be done to erase the mental illusion in order to heal the physical condition, the cause of which is not in matter, but in false belief.

This fact was not easy for me to understand, but I realize more and more that its recognition is necessary in order to prove the words of our Leader, Mrs. Eddy (Science and Health, p. 473), "God is everywhere, and nothing apart from Him is present or has power."—(Mrs.) Florence L.
