When I first took up the study of Christian Science, I had four healings by reading the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. They were those of severe headaches, hay fever, chronic constipation, and quinsy. These healings have been permanent. I have had many other healings, some through my own understanding of God and some through the loving help of Christian Science practitioners.

On one occasion I fell off the step of a bus, hurting my left leg and apparently breaking my left arm at the wrist. A man called a taxi for me, and I was taken home. I was in great pain; so I called a practitioner for help. It was not long before the pain eased, and one night I felt the bones in my wrist snap into place. Not long afterward I was completely free.

A few years ago I fell down the basement stairs. I immediately declared that there are no accidents in divine Mind. As I lay on the basement floor, a statement from the textbook flooded my consciousness (p. 393): "Rise in the strength of Spirit to resist all that is unlike good. God has made man capable of this, and nothing can vitiate the ability and power divinely bestowed on man." I arose and went about my duties the rest of the day. The next day I was entirely normal.
