"HIS GIFT OF LOVE"

Mankind's deep desire to be loved has resulted in frantic efforts for approval, wearying struggles for success and security, and an endless search for happy relationships. The quest will not cease, and the question, "Are we loved?" will be repeated until we perceive that as the likeness of God, who is Love, we must always receive as well as impart His love.

Christ Jesus, our Way-shower, proved by word and deed that he fully understood God's love. He was plagued by persecution and popularity, but neither personal hatred nor personal love was of importance to him, for he demonstrated a consciousness of his eternal unity with God, the only presence. God alone was real to Jesus.

All the vagaries of mortality from birth to the cross and the grave were made to serve as opportunities to prove the power and glory of the presence of divine Love. Jesus left wise counsel and a clear explanation of his mission to his followers when he said (John 15:19), "As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love."
