For many years I have been helped by a practical understanding of Christian Science. In a great many instances the support of my mother, or a Sunday School teacher, or a practitioner has been requested to overcome problems relating to my health, schoolwork, and employment. Much gratitude is due all those who have helped me, but I am most grateful to them for persistently encouraging me to do my own thinking and to work out my salvation according to the teachings of Christian Science.

As my understanding of God increases, I see many more ways of applying it and thus proving the omnipotence of His ever-loving will. Of the many wonderful experiences I have had, there are three I desire to relate. They occurred while I was living on a ranch in the West.

One spring morning, when all the apple and peach trees were full of blossoms, a late storm brought snow not only to the surrounding high mountains, which is not unusual, but to the valley. To all appearances, the blossoms would be frozen and there would be no fruit that year.
