OUR LEADER AS PRACTITIONER

Recently I was privileged to see a copy of an old newspaper, published in Boston, Massachusetts, which carried what is believed to be the first advertisement that Mary Baker Eddy placed in public print to announce her instruction in the Science of Mind-healing. The plain simplicity of this advertisement was matched only by the strong conviction of its wording, for it stated in clear terms that pupils would not be charged for the instruction if they did not gain the ability to heal.

This unwavering confidence in divine Mind's healing power was a compelling factor in the life of the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science. Because her revelation of divine metaphysics found its deep-drawn inspiration in the life and teachings of Christ Jesus, Mrs. Eddy knew that her Church must repeat the healing works of the Master in order to complement his life and confirm the origin and authority of her Church. As the courageous Leader of the Cause of Christian Science and its first practitioner, Mrs. Eddy performed such works

Spiritually prepared for the immense task of establishing on earth the new dispensation of Christ, Truth, Mrs. Eddy became the modern exponent of apostolic healing. Her work as practitioner and healer stands today as a beacon to her followers and verifies the great truth which she discovered.
