The Mother Church is always deeply interested in the mission of Christian Science organizations at colleges and universities. Keenly aware of the spiritual needs of our university students, The Christian Science Board of Directors has provided for activities that support and guide these organizations in their challenging mission at the academic level.

The College Organization Division of the Department of Branches and Practitioners holds workshop meetings from time to time with organization members on local campuses. These visits which extended to about eighty different colleges and universities in the past academic year strengthened the ties between The Mother Church and these organizations and also afforded their members an opportunity for consultation about the many phases of campus life. During such visits, helpful interviews are frequently had with college chaplains and administrative officials, students and faculty, who thus gain a more complete picture of religious life among Christian Science students at universities.

In addition to answering the substantial volume of student correspondence which is invited and encouraged, the College Organization Division sends informal newsletters to the organizations. Each year, with the help of the organizations themselves and the college organization information committees in branch churches and societies, hundreds of freshmen are individually reached by the College Organization Division, given free literature, and invited to participate in organization functions.
