ROLLING AWAY THE STONE

Christians know well the story of the resurrection morning, when "Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome" came to the tomb of Christ Jesus and found that the stone which had been placed at its door was rolled away (Mark 16:1). The master Christian had proved that death is an illusion, which the Christ-power dispels. An angel messenger said, "He is risen; he is not here."

By his resurrection, Christ Jesus taught not only that life is indestructible but that Christliness is required to prove that indestructibility. We take part in his resurrection as we spiritualize thought, know Spirit to be the only substance, and express the divine nature, which cannot die.

Through Christian Science many students are learning to destroy materialism, which would obstruct their demonstration of the life that is deathless. They know that they must master the physical sense of existence by healing the sick and sinful if they would aid in wiping out the scourge which often brings grief and desolation to mankind.
