So much good has come to me...

So much good has come to me since my testimony was published some years ago that I feel impelled to express my gratitude for the blessings which I have experienced in the intervening years.

One incident which has richly blessed me occurred at the birth of my daughter's first child. At that time my daughter became tense and frightened. I told her to think over Mary Baker Eddy's poem, "The Mother's Evening Prayer" (Poems, p. 4). She said, "Mother, I can't think." Then I asked her to lie quietly while I recited the poem to her. I repeated the words slowly, dwelling in thought on every beautiful truth presented. When I had finished, my daughter lay completely relaxed.

From that moment she had no more pain. The doctor and nurse who attended her were amazed at the ease and freedom of the delivery. The young mother proceeded with her normal activities that same day.
