About two years ago our home was very suddenly sold, and I was filled with an overwhelming sense of fear at the thought of finding another. I listened to subtle arguments such as these: You will never have another home which you will love as much and which will be as well built and as comfortable. There are no desirable lots available in the city. You will never find a suitable and comfortable home in which to live while another is being built.

One evening I retired as usual, but I found I could not rest; so I arose and spent the entire night in studying our textbooks, the Bible and Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, in praying, and in listening for God's guidance. The next day a dear friend referred me to this verse in the Bible (Ex. 23:20): "Behold, I send an Angel before thee, to keep thee in the way, and to bring thee into the place which I have prepared."

I clung to this passage all day, but still the sense of fear continued. That night I awakened feeling very ill. At this point I recalled that our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, says in Science and Health (p. 406), "Resist evil—error of every sort—and it will flee from you."
