A VISIT TO MRS. EDDY

As a young girl I was in very poor health. My father, a practicing physician and surgeon, was unable to help me. Because I had tuberculosis, I was not expected to live until maturity. In the meantime, my mother's health failed, and seven of the leading physicians and surgeons in our city gave her up as a hopeless case. Then Christian Science was presented to us.

After the first treatment my mother, who had been confined to her bed and never expected to be out of sight of her home again, walked a long distance. At the end of a week's time she was noticeably improved. After reading "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, she said, "This is what I have always longed for." She drank in the truth like a thirsty child, for she had longed for a practical religion. As a result of her taking up Christian Science she, my older sister, and I were healed.

Mother took class instruction with one of Mrs. Eddy's students and in the class heard that Mrs. Eddy taught in Boston. Mother immediately decided that she must go to the fountainhead. She applied to our Leader and was admitted to one of her Primary classes.
