I want to express my gratitude...

I want to express my gratitude to God for leading me to the understanding of Christian Science and for our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, whose spirituality enabled her to impart the truth for all to understand. When I first learned of this religion, I thought those two words, "Christian Science," were the most beautiful I had ever heard, and I knew its healing ministry must be like that of our Master, Christ Jesus.

To be free from having to make frequent trips to the doctor opened a whole new world to me, for which I am very grateful. The first healing I witnessed was one my husband had of bleeding hemorrhoids. He had recently been discharged from the United States Army. The doctors had said that they could operate for this condition but that it would return.

My husband had become acquainted with this Science through receiving Christian Science literature distributed among the men who were overseas in World War I; so now he called on a Christian Science practitioner for help. After giving him a treatment, she asked him to come back again the next afternoon. When he returned, he gratefully and joyously told her that the condition was completely healed. This was thirty-eight years ago, and the healing has been permanent.
