CHRIST, THE SAVING IDEA OF GOD

Christian Science makes it plain that Christ is the saving idea of God which is ever available to guide men's steps, to harmonize their relationships, to heal their sicknesses, and to deliver them from sin and its results. The Christ-idea operates in human experience when one recognizes clearly that there is only one Mind, God, and that all really have that same perfect Mind. Perfect Mind knows only goodness, perfection, and completeness and can bestow upon its expression only that which is good.

"Christ is the true idea voicing good, the divine message from God to men speaking to the human consciousness," declares Mary Baker Eddy (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 332). And she adds, "The Christ is incorporeal, spiritual,—yea, the divine image and likeness, dispelling the illusions of the senses; the Way, the Truth, and the Life, healing the sick and casting out evils, destroying sin, disease, and death."

The Christ ideal is unlimited and unrestricted. Every discord in human life is subject to elimination through the operation of the saving influence of Christ. To utilize the power of Christ, one must develop a spiritual knowledge of God's nature and of man's perfect relationship to God. The earnest study of Science unfolds the Christ, Truth, applicable to every problem in human experience. Through devotion to Truth, we discern these spiritual ideas, and when properly used they bring demonstration.
