THE POWER OF PERFECT PEACE

Earnest students of Christian Science are proving daily that the power of perfect peace can correct discordant situations. As disciples of Christ Jesus, these students endeavor to bear witness to that perfect peace which inevitably flows from constant, faithful communion with the one divine Mind. The following example illustrates the simplicity by which healing is accomplished when the pure peace of right thinking is established.

A student of Christian Science was awakened one night by the boisterous voices of a rowdy gathering in a neighboring house. Momentarily she had a sense of anxiety and apprehension as she contemplated the prospect of a wakeful night. Her son was scheduled to take an important examination the next day, and the firm where she worked expected a record day of business. Resolving to rise above anxiety, the student turned her thought completely to God. Immediately an angel message came in the words of Christ Jesus (John 14:27): "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid."

The student realized that peace could not come or go, since it was her eternal heritage and possession. She knew that she could not be robbed by human circumstance of that which was her very birthright as a child of God. Here was a joyous opportunity to prove the practical nature of the truth that she had been studying, the divine facts upon which peace is based.
