LOVING SOME MORE

[Of Speical Interest to Children]

Flora had just started to go to day school and was enjoying it very much. But one day she came home crying. It seemed that a schoolmate had pinched her and had said unkind things about her. Flora's mother listened and then said, "Well, darling, you know what you have to do, don't you?"

Flora didn't know, or perhaps she was feeling too upset and cross to remember. So Mother reminded her, saying, "You just have to love her more." Mother knew how much easier it was to say that than to do it.

Because they lived too far from a Church of Christ, Scientist, for Flora to attend Sunday School, every Sunday morning Flora and her sister, Celia, and Flora's friend, Joan, who lived next door, had their own Sunday School. Mother acted as superintendent, pianist, and teacher all in one. What happy times they had! The three children loved to learn of divine Love and to hear how Jesus loved people so much that he could heal them and even restore to life those who seemed to have died. He promised that if we really loved and followed him, we too would be able to do wonderful works. But we would have to go on loving and forgiving people, no matter how unkind they seemed to be to us.
