My first testimony was published in The Christian Science Journal of July, 1932. Now I desire to express gratitude to God for continued blessings. One afternoon I felt severe pain accompanied by a sense of illness. Although the condition was not diagnosed, I believe it was an attack of acute appendicitis. Because of fear, I was unable to apply my understanding of Christian Science; so I telephoned a friend who is a Scientist and told her of the condition. She said, "I will come and stay with you."

During our conversation that evening my friend said, "We are believing a lie." That aroused me, and I prayed to be awakened from the dream of pain. I denied that man, God's idea, was capable of having such a dream. This was done vehemently a number of times, and then relief came. I went to sleep. In about ten minutes I awakened completely healed; and I was conscious of a great sense of spiritual peace. This healing occurred over four years ago, and there has been no recurrence of the condition.

A few years ago I spent a week at the Christian Science Benevolent Association, San Francisco, California. During my stay there, I was healed of an intestinal condition which had troubled me for several months. I was also healed of confusion and a deep discontent which had begun just after the passing of a beloved brother.
