THE COMFORTER
Christ Jesus prophesied the coming of the Comforter. He said (John 14:16,17), "I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you."
The high esteem in which Jesus held the object of his prophecy is indicated by the name he selected for it—the Comforter. Today Christian Science appears in fulfillment of the Master's prophecy. Moreover, this Science is proving itself to be the promised Comforter by restoring health and happiness to many. It makes no attempt to change the teachings of the Master, but rather does it interpret and amplify them in fulfillment of its mission as the Comforter.
