Christian Science was presented to me in 1937 at a time of extreme grief at the sudden passing of my sister.

A Christian Science practitioner healed me instantly of this grief. I was comforted by two passages given to me from the Bible. The first was (II Tim. 1:7), "God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind." The other one reads (Rom. 8:2), "The law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death."

Later, while I was reading the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, I caught a glimpse of God's allness and was healed of asthma and hay fever, which had troubled me since childhood. Simultaneously I realized that I had given up the belief that pollen had power to harm me, for God alone is all power and presence.
