RADIO PROGRAM No. 207 - A Difficult Business Situation Healed

Speaker: Without question, one of the biggest challenges on any job is learning to get along with others. Domination, resentment, and fear are damaging to any business. But there is a lasting basis for establishing harmony in such situations, and our guest is going to tell you about this from firsthand experience. I'd like to introduce Roy Linnig of Deerfield, Illinois.

Mr. Linnig: Some men may think that prayer and business don't mix, or that the Bible and the businessman don't have much in common. But I can certainly testify to the opposite. I've found how effective it is to rely on God in a business situation. I've seen familiar truths in the Bible, like those in the Ten Commandments, prove invaluable in a business way.

For many years I was in sales work. At one point I took a job as a sales executive that looked very promising. But before I had been with the company very long, I found that I didn't have the freedom I had expected. The motivating force and the controlling power seemed to be centered in one man —my superior. It was a case of complete domination. In handling sales problems, we were told what to say and how to say it. Even the sequence of ideas had to be followed through. We were required to obey in every detail, whether we thought it was right or not. My opinion and my views were never considered. Every man in the organization was in the same boat.
