I wish to express gratitude for a recent healing I had of what would probably have been diagnosed as a heart attack, accompanied by high blood pressure. It was such a complete healing that if I do not tell of it now, I feel the whole experience will fade entirely from consciousness like a dream and will not be recorded to help others. Christ Jesus said (Matt. 10:8), "Freely ye have received, freely give."

During this experience, which lasted about six weeks, I had a great deal of fear. A Christian Science practitioner was called and stood by, day and night. One night I appeared to be near the end. The suggestion came to me, "You are passing on." I turned absolutely to God, and this angel message came to me with great clearness (Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, p. 598): "One moment of divine consciousness, or the spiritual understanding of Life and Love, is a foretaste of eternity. This exalted view, obtained and retained when the Science of being is understood, would bridge over with life discerned spiritually the interval of death, and man would be in the full consciousness of his immortality and eternal harmony, where sin, sickness, and death are unknown."

During the weeks that followed, I studied the definition of "heart" on page 587 of Science and Health. It reads, "Mortal feelings, motives, affections, joys, and sorrows." I saw clearly that it was not the material heart that had to be healed, but the material emotions which I had been expressing. Gradually the fear lessened, and I knew that I was healed. Since then, I have been free from even the fear of heart trouble.
