"WELCOME HOME!"

At this season of the year when many Christian Scientists are traveling from all parts of the world to attend the Annual Meeting of The Mother Church in Boston, they are undoubtedly recalling with deep gratitude the great work of their beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy.

On an occasion in June, 1903, when Mrs. Eddy spoke to the members of her Church at Pleasant View, in Concord, New Hampshire, she began her address as follows (The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany, p. 170): "Beloved Brethren:—Welcome home! To your home in my heart! Welcome to Pleasant View, but not to varying views." And, later, referring to the fact that many had come from great distances, she said, "In parting I repeat to these dear members of my church: Trust in Truth, and have no other trusts."

Today as in earlier days our Leader welcomes the members of her Church through her writings. She herself arranged for the holding of the Annual Meeting in accordance with the terms of her Manual of The Mother Church. May her words of an earlier day echo in the hearts of all Christian Scientists, whether or not they are present at the Annual Meeting: "Welcome home! To your home in my heart!" and; "Trust in Truth, and have no other trusts."
