I can testify to many physical healings which I have had in the past twenty-five years through the ministrations of Christian Science. Some have come through the help of practitioners, some through my own study, and some through various church activities.

One particularly painful condition which, I suppose, would have been called arthritis by the medical profession lasted several months. During this time I was bent over, and I found it necessary to use a cane for support when walking. Through my prayerful study unlovely characteristics, such as resentment, impatience, irritability, self-pity, and fear, were overcome, and then the physical condition was completely healed.

One day near the end of the week, I sprained an ankle. It appeared that I would be unable to usher in church on Sunday, but I reasoned that the sprain had come quickly, and there was no logical reason why it should not leave quickly, since it had no reality anyway. Although I had been accustomed to think that a sprained ankle would require from three to four weeks to heal, I was able to usher on Sunday and had no further difficulty.
