THE HEALING CHRIST

That state of thinking which is loving, sincere, humble, and grateful is in communion with God. It is imbued with the power of the Christ. In "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" Mary Baker Eddy writes (p. 332), "Christ is the true idea voicing good, the divine message from God to men speaking to the human consciousness." She further states (ibid., p. 473), "Jesus is the name of the man who, more than all other men, has presented Christ, the true idea of God, healing the sick and the sinning and destroying the power of death."

Can we demonstrate the Christ as did Jesus? Yes! Every constructive thought, compassionate deed, loving act, and noble purpose is an evidence of the presence of the Christ. As we avail ourselves of and use the inner Christliness then will our actions be harmonious and the results good. The consciousness inspired by the Christ heals!

We progress through Christlike thinking. Holy thoughts inevitably bring to light our true, harmonious and tranquil state of existence. So long as we attempt to judge our progress by physical evidence, we shall experience the limitations and other delusions of the material senses.
