During the first World War, I was stricken with influenza. When I had been given up by two physicians, an employee in my husband's business gave me Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy to read. I was instantaneously healed while reading these lines in the chapter on Prayer (p. 1): "The prayer that reforms the sinner and heals the sick is an absolute faith that all things are possible to God,—a spiritual understanding of Him, an unselfed love."

My first healing by a practitioner was that of dysentery of many years' standing. This healing too was instantaneous and has been permanent. Through reading Science and Health I was healed of a dislocated shoulder. Also, grief at my husband's passing was overcome.

Other healings I have had include those of deafness, the need for wearing glasses, headaches, and the effects of accidents.
