I have learned many lessons in Christian Science and have had some outstanding healings. One of these concerned human relationships. I had for years felt deep resentment towards a certain person, and one day when it was at its peak I said some unloving things. Although I felt that what I was standing for was right, I was distressed at the things I had said.

At last I telephoned a practitioner, who said, "God knows nothing of this." Then I went to my room and read an article from the Sentinel which quieted my thought considerably. Later the angel message came very clearly (Matt. 3:17), "This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased."

I thought: "How can God be pleased with that individual? There is so much injustice there." Suddenly I realized that all that was wrong was only in my thinking, for God had made man in His image and likeness. Therefore that individual was truly good, and God was pleased with her. When I saw that person again, it was as if nothing inharmonious had ever happened. Since that time I have met her frequently and been quite happy in her company, Moreover, she has shown thoughtfulness and kindness towards me which had not been evident before.
