Through business contacts, I met a woman who in great humility and wisdom opened new vistas to me. Later I learned she was a Christian Science practitioner.

My acquaintance with this woman led me to pick up a Sentinel, one of the periodicals regularly distributed to the beauty shop where I was employed, and to read an article and all of the testimonies. I pondered the quotations from the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," giving Mary Baker Eddy's clear interpretations of Jesus' teachings, and they inspired me to study Christian Science. This interest led later to membership in The Mother Church and a branch church.

On page 128 in Science and Health, Mrs. Eddy writes: "The term Science, properly understood, refers only to the laws of God and to His government of the universe, inclusive of man. From this it follows that business men and cultured scholars have found that Christian Science enhances their endurance and mental powers, enlarges their perception of character, gives them acuteness and comprehensiveness and an ability to exceed their ordinary capacity." These statements of truth have been proved in my business experience.
