Mary Baker Eddy says in the Preface of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. vii), "To those leaning on the sustaining infinite, to-day is big with blessings." This statement has been verified for me over and over again during the thirty-eight years that I have been "leaning on the sustaining infinite." Our seven children were reared without medical aid. We have had healings in our family of pneumonia, measles, mumps, chicken pox, the effects of accidents, and grief at the passing of a loved one.

When our first two children were small both had whooping cough at the same time, It appeared that the little girl, who was about two months old, would not survive. I asked my husband to go quickly and tell a cousin of mine to come and help us. This cousin had talked to me about the healing power of Christian Science, and I knew that she did not use material remedies.

When my cousin came, the child was almost completely exhausted from coughing. Her color had changed, and she breathed only with great effort. My cousin prayed silently and then repeated statements from Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. In a short time the little girl's color and breathing were normal, and both she and her brother ceased coughing. In a few days both were completely healed.
