Church Dedications

Note: Christian Science churches are dedicated only when free from debt.

Leicester, Leicestershire, England (First Church).

An important milestone in the history of the Christian Science movement in Leicester will be reached on Sunday when members of First Church of Christ, Scientist, Leicester, dedicate their church as one of the thousands of branches of The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts.

It is now more than forty years since Christian Science became active in Leicester, and for half of this time services have been held in the tall Victorian building on Granville Road fronting Victoria Park.

Now, to accommodate a growing congregation, the members have had a new auditorium ... added to the rear of these premises.

Services of dedication will be held here on Sunday, at which visitors from all parts of the Midlands are expected to be present.
