For over thirty-five years Christian Science has been my only physician. It has healed me when sick, comforted me in sorrow, and given me a sense of peace and joy beyond words to express. Chronic bronchitis, which had held me in bondage every winter since girlhood, was quickly and completely healed solely through my reading Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. Other healings followed as I continued to study and apply the truths of this textbook.

The Bible, always loved but never understood, became a new book to me through the light shed on it by this key to the Scriptures. Science and Health truly has unlocked the Scriptures for me, proving true the wonderful promises contained therein and showing God's power as applicable to healing today as when applied to humanity's problems in Jesus' time.

In "Christian Healing" Mrs. Eddy writes (p. 6): "Man thinks he is a medium of disease; that when he is sick, disease controls his body to whatever manifestation we see. But the fact remains, in metaphysics, that the mind of the individual only can produce a result upon his body. The belief that produces this result may be wholly unknown to the individual, because it is lying back in the unconscious thought, a latent cause producing the effect we see."
