On page 1 of "Rudimental Divine Science," in answer to the question, "How would you define Christian Science?" Mrs. Eddy replies, "As the law of God, the law of good, interpreting and demonstrating the divine Principle and rule of universal harmony." This law of God, good, has met my every need since I first attended a Christian Science church nineteen years ago. I am very grateful for the many physical healings which I have had and for the daily help Science gives us as we learn to apply the truths that make us free.
When I became interested in Christian Science, I was under the care of a stomach specialist for what was diagnosed as colitis and lack of acid in the gastric juices. After attending my first service at a Church of Christ, Scientist, I wanted to rely on Christian Science entirely, for I felt confident that it was the answer to my problems.
I dispensed with all medicine and went to see a Christian Science practitioner, who spoke to me of God and of man's relation to Him. I have never used medicine in any form since that time. The gastric trouble and colitis disappeared, and so did tonsillitis, from which I had suffered on many occasions prior to becoming interested in Christian Science. None of these difficulties have recurred.
