For many years my two children and I have relied on Christian Science, not only for physical healing, but for every problem we have been called upon to solve. If the problem was not met immediately, we learned that more consecration and more study were necessary. My son was called into service in World War II, and during several years of flying he was protected from accidents. My daughter gave birth to two children under Christian Science treatment, and the births were both very harmonious.

There have been many healings, one of which I should like to tell. When my daughter was five years of age she had scarlet fever. As it was during the depression of the 1930's, I found it necessary to work outside the home, and my daughter was staying with some relatives who were of a different religion. The house was quarantined, and I could not visit her without giving up the work I was doing.

I asked for help form a practitioner, who worked for her for several days. Since there appeared to be little change I took the textbooks, the Bible and Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, and read them for some time. Then I prayed to be shown what was hindering the healing. At two o'clock in the morning it occurred to me that if the child could have a Christian Science nurse, she would be able to close the door between the child and those who were so fearful for her.

In the morning I called a nurse, and she went to my daughter immediately. At that time the girl was crying with pain in her ear. The nurse very quietly took her into another room, shut the door, and read to her from some Christian Science literature. The child fell asleep, and after a while she awakened. The pillow was wet where the ear had drained, the fever had gone, and she wanted to get up. This she did, and that was the last of the disease.

I cannot express in words my gratitude to God for our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for all she did and the sacrifices she made to give her discovery to the world. I am also grateful to be a member of The Mother Church and a branch church.—(Mrs.) Leona B. Mighton, Vista, California.
