In humble gratitude I give this...

In humble gratitude I give this testimony of thanks to God, Love, for Christ Jesus, the Way-shower, and for our revered Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, who gave us Christian Science, the pearl of great price, which enables us to find a solution to all our problems. Through the literature which our Leader so wisely established for our guidance and benefit, we are able to learn of the healings received and the unfoldment gained by each other.

I am especially grateful for a healing I received by reading a testimony in the Sentinel nearly three years ago. On my body a growth of the same nature as that which had caused my mother to pass on with a cancer manifested itself. The thought of heredity was aggressive, but I recognized it as only mental suggestion and dismissed it as a false god trying to assert itself in my consciousness. In a Sentinel testimony I read of a woman who had received her healing of a similar condition by steadfastly declaring this truth, found in "Unity of Good" by Mrs. Eddy (p. 60): "This false sense of substance must yield to His eternal presence, and so dissolve." I held to this declaration of Truth and also to another one from our textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy (p. 492), "God is Mind, and God is infinite; hence all is Mind." The Lord's Prayer and "the scientific statement of being" (ibid., p. 468) were likewise helpful. In three or four days the growth disappeared. For this healing and numerous others, I thank God.

In giving this testimony I hope that it may benefit others in their hour of need as another's testimony benefited me. Membership in The Mother Church and class instruction have blessed me greatly, and I am humbly grateful to serve God in the activities of a Christian Science Society. In the thirty years that I have striven to demonstrate Christian Science I have sometimes gone through deep waters, but in following our Leader's teachings I have been rewarded with guidance and protection.—Frank Mots, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
