MIND'S ALL-ILLUMING LIGHT

Job 12:22

The sun shines ever, in those open realms
Devoid of obstacles. Earth's darknesses
Portray the varying shadows of the earth
Between our vision and the line of light.
Since shadow signifies obstructiveness,
No brief, benighted seeming ever shall
Withstay enlightenment when lightward-turning
Regains the source of light. A law precludes
An enigmatic darkness streaming through
The open windows of a lighted room,
For darkness is absence, not a present thing.

Earth's deepest shadow, even death itself,
Flees from the radiance of the Life divine
That, piercing through the vaunted mortal veil
Of crucifixion, bared the fallacy
Of death's illusion as the tenuous web
And woof of mental darkness. Lo, the light
Of all-illuming and eternal Mind
Holds man forever in his Father's sight,
Where Truthward-turning hearts, arisen, blest,
And purified, discern with clearing view
The encircling arms of immortality.
