It is with heartfelt gratitude that I testify to the beneficent influence Christian Science has had on my life. Through the gift of a subscription to the Sentinel my mother took up the study of Christian Science shortly before my birth. Since we lived in a small desert town in which there was no Church of Christ, Scientist, and the closest practitioner was almost two hundred miles distant, we were entirely dependent upon the Bible, Mrs. Eddy's works, and the Christian Science periodicals for instruction in healing.

When I was twelve years old I experienced my first healing through my own efforts. When a friend learned that I had been exposed to the mumps, she said that I would get the same ailment. Although I mentally resisted her statement. I returned home from school with symptoms of the disease. After dinner I retired to my room, and taking up my copy of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, I read for an hour or so, until the symptoms disappeared. My parents did not know of these symptoms, and I did not ask for help of any kind.

Colds, influenza, fatigue, organic distress, a skin disorder, and other ailments have all been healed through Christian Science treatment. At the end of World War II, my husband and I were beautifully provided with a comfortable and convenient apartment, although all around us were evidences of inadequate housing. Disappointments and disillusionments have been overcome, sorrow at the passing of my parents was immediately erased, spiritual guidance and protection have frequently been evidenced, unlovely traits of character have yielded to spiritual growth, and my home has been increasingly blessed by divine Love.
