PRESENCE OF MIND
Many men and women have been called upon at moments of great fear and danger to express presence of mind. Some of us may be doubtful as to how we should react under circumstances which demand much fortitude. The importance, therefore, of our daily thinking as we move about our common tasks is recognized by Christian Scientists.
God is infinite, divine Mind. for this reason, when faced by some untoward circumstance, the Christian Scientist will declare the truth that he lives in the presence of this divine Mind, whose image and likeness he bears, and in whom there is no fear or danger. Through the demonstration of unity with his heavenly Father, protection is assured.
Mary Baker Eddy gives us this message (The First church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany, p. 210): "Beloved Christian Scientists, keep your minds so filled with Truth and Love, that sin, disease, and death cannot enter them." And she also says in the same paragraph, "Good thoughts are an impervious armor; clad therewith you are completely shielded from the attacks of error of every sort."
