Christian Science Society, Ephrata–Soap Lake, will dedicate its new church building on Sunday, January 1, 1956

In 1916 a small group of students of Christian Science met informally in their homes at Ephrata. Sunday School classes were started in 1920. These meetings were discontinued in 1933, because many of the students moved from the community.

The present society began holding meetings in March, 1939, at Soap Lake. In 1945 the group moved to the Federated Women's Clubhouse in Soap Lake. The group was recognized by The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts, as a Christian Science Society in June, 1951. The construction of the edifice at 11th and C Streets, S.W., Ephrata, was started in August, 1954, and the first service was held on June 1, 1955... A Reading Room is maintained in the church building.

The construction was financed by contributions from friends and members of the society and through the grants from the Selina C. Cornish Fund, and the Trustees under the Will of Mary Baker Eddy.
