Christian Science came into my life as the Comforter which Christ Jesus promised that the Father would send. And it came at a time of complete surrender to God as All-in-all. With the ancient worthy I can truly say (Job 22:21), "Acquaint now thyself with him, and he at peace: thereby good shall come unto thee."

My health, which had always been more or less robust, began to fail. First there were little chronic ailments and finally a general infection throughout my system. For this I took painful and expensive medical treatment. When my ill-health reached a point at which it began to affect my work seriously, I thought it only fair to discuss with my employer the possibility of taking a leave of absence with whatever monetary sick benefits I might be entitled to. He listened sympathetically to what I told him, wrote out his own personal check for the sum mentioned, and then asked me to listen to the story of his healing in Christian Science before I decided upon my future course of action.

In the two-hour conversation which followed not only did I begin to feel better than I had in many weeks, but my whole concept of life was transformed. From what my employer told me I learned that God is the divine Principle of man and is operative in human consciousness. I hardly slept at all that night, for I was so eager to learn more of Truth by reading the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, which my employer loaned me. From that time to the present my life has continued to be a succession of proofs of God's love and care for His offspring. I was quickly healed of all my physical debilitation and have continued to enjoy good health. Also I have been guided into ever greater opportunities in which to serve God from day to day.
