I feel deeply grateful for the sense of ever-present Love, which Christian Science gives us. This sense of Love brings about the healing of all manner of sin and sickness. Science healed me of mental depression, which had resulted from belief in man's separation from God, Love. Doctors were at a loss to account adequately for my poor health, which was never helped by any of the drugs they gave me. They diagnosed the condition as anemia and nervous exhaustion, which had affected the heart.

When I turned in desperation to Christian Science, the realization that God, Love, fills all space began at once to bring me a sense of His nearness. This realization dispelled the innumerable fears which had grown upon me from childhood and which had kept me a semi-invalid for most of my life. The words of Christ Jesus (John 14: 215), "If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him," brought a deep and abiding peace.

Instead of a timid grief-stricken mortal, I began to think of myself as the beloved child of the ever-present Father-Mother God. Neighbors who saw the change in me expressed astonishment constantly, and some asked me how it had come about. For years they had been used to seeing me creep along the road, leaning on a stick. They could scarcely believe that now I was leading an active life and cycling about without any difficulty. The healing has been complete, and I have been able to work almost without conscious effort, because I know the source of my strength is inexhaustible.
